Description
It takes lots of work to produce manuka oil, as most plant material is harvested by hand from manuka trees. The oil is extracted from oil sacs on the underside of the leaves by passing steam through the plant material. This steam is then cooled and naturally separates into floral water [hydrosol] and essential oil floating on the surface.
Manuka oil may possibly be useful as antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal, for inflammation, antihistimine, scar tissue, immune system and wounds.
