Weekly we have to partner with one another in prayer. Sometimes we honestly are without words, so someone has to carry us along in prayer, temporarily. A Healed People team member wrote this prayer for Kim, who’s part of the Healed People family in Colorado
Father, here we are, me, you and Kim.
She’s in Colorado if my memory is correct and I’m in Tennessee just finishing my sit ups on the floor.
So, we’re thankful that you’re right here with us — there’s no space between the three of us.
We come to you in prayer.
Will you join us, hold our hands, breathe on us, sit with us a bit as we talk to You.
You know we both remember the hospital — the smells, the looks, the blood, the looks of lethargy, the despair in the eyes of people we don’t know.
You know how we felt and feel when all others are sleep — the nurse has made her round, and we feel the very part of us that make us female.
We step into our humanness —are we okay Lord, are we not, will I make it?
We can say to you — we’re kinda tired, okay alot tired.
Prayed every prayer, gone to every ministry — trying to forgive as best we know without being hurt, yet, again.
So where were You Lord.
I wouldn’t have had to work so hard — running back and forth from my piece of emotions tucked here to the other buried emotion over there while seemingly being normal to the world trying to make it through the day.
I’m tired.
I’m exhausted Lord.
For this one night, may I just place the tip of my head near your leg Lord.
Not really sure if I want to touch You.
You know I have a bit of apprehension towards You.
Might this be a good time to say, I need to release You.
I know you in my head, but Man God, I don’t really know You in my heart.
I should have been able to roam free as a child with my heart with the mom and dad you entrusted me to.
But, my heart shut down, which means you’re even at bay.
Will you forgive me, through Your blood?
I give you my tick marks I’ve unconsciously counted off — for every shortcoming You’ve left me with over the years.
I’ve weighed my own self down Lord, trying to keep a list on who done done me wrong.
Well — I had to, right, You understand — who will care for, protect the chid who has not her own.
I’m tired Lord.
I can’t live my family, prematurely, through death.
They need me, but I need to borrow Your strength for me to need me — first.
So since I need a peace I don’t know — I’ll allow myself to rest just the tip of my head near Your leg.
That’s all I can do tonight.
Thank you Lord for not going past this temporary boundary I have.
This thing with giving You access to my heart is rather new.
I’m gonna try something new Lord.
Not asking for nothing.
Not seeking out nothing.
I’m just going to act like the care free daughter with You — that I would have liked to have done as a child.
When no body’s looking, or when they’re asleep — I’m walking down the hallway on my tippy toes.
I’m getting a piece of ribbon and twirling it in the air and turning in circles.
I’m going to laugh at an old sitcom I’ve not seen in years.
Plait my hair in two or three ponytails and sing a sweet simple song to You.
I might even sing Your scriptures to You.
I choose to confess my wholeness.
I choose not to bow to my symptoms.
I choose to praise at least once a day before it’s done.
Your Daughters — Kim and Elaine
We release our faith together, in the name of Yeshua — this is done.
