The power in keeping quiet

Give life by keeping quiet. According to Kim Cash Tate, one of these four ways to gift someone is by keeping quiet.

James 1:19, be slow to speak, given we know that what’s in your heart is what you speak.

#1 – listen to a person’s heart by keeping quiet rather than getting your point across. You might be surprised how much the person is willing to open up when you are quiet.

#2 – you grow in humility by keeping quiet. By speaking/typing, are you saying what I have to say is more important than anyone else in the conversation? This is an opportunity to regard the other person as more important than ourselves, a genuine example of humility. What about what God has given the other person to say? What choice words does the other person have to bless you with?

#3 – you become a giver by keeping quiet and listening. This makes the other person special in that moment. Stopping and giving an ear to someone is the gift of time, a language of love for some people. What an impression it makes! Your generosity will not be forgotten.

#4 –  you protect yourself, Proverbs 21:23, he who guards his mouth guards his soul from trouble. You’re guarding your soul when you choose not to speak your mind. What would the fallout have been from the thing you wanted to say?

Proverbs 10:19, when there are many words, transgressions are unavoidable. The more you talk, the better the chance you will sin with your words. Keeping quiet is a form of protection.

It should be noted that keeping quiet does not mean you’re a doormat.

Keeping quiet does not mean you’re to internalize your emotions, which will probably create a health issue.

Keeping quiet is an intentional, learned discipline. It’s a choice that may be good to have an accountability partner for.

Keeping quiet is by no means to be confused with passive-aggressive behavior. Passive-aggressiveness usually deflates relationships.

Speak these prayer commands

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me in the name of Jesus.

I speak peace to the diabolical cyclones and disastrous winds that are designed to bring shipwreck in my life through the power of the superior Blood of Jesus.

Based on the authority provided by Christ, I command the east winds of judgment to blow into the enemy’s camp, in the name of Jesus.

Cause divine and fresh winds of the Spirit to begin to blow; let the winds of the Spirit blow, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Let the south winds of restoration and supernatural supply blow profusely and mobilize angelic hosts for my benefit in the matchless name of Yeshua.
