One of the ways Eyebright does this is by increasing the peripheral circulation [blood vessels near the body’s surface]. Eyebright achieves this due to its abundant supply of the Vitamin B known as Niacin. As it does its work, Niacin can produce a beneficial purple-tingly blush. Eyebright is an organic source of the mineral element silicon, which, among other things, builds strong nerves. Eyebright contains a surprisingly large amount of the organic form of this mineral element, silicon.

This may well explain how Eyebright corrects some problems by first strengthening the nerves that service the area, and then the repair can occur. Eyebright can be taken effectively for cough, hoarseness, earache, headache, for irritating discharge of mucus from eyes, sinuses, nose, throat, or bowel for relief. If the mother-to-be is exposed to measles, give Eyebright to the mother-to-be and prevent deafness in the child’s birth. Rub into the abdomen liberally and apply to the length of the spine several times daily until all threat of harm is passed. Avoid chilling while doing this.
