The 10th block to healing needs to be more honest and transparent. Two big reasons for not being truthful and transparent are fear and pride. You may ask, “What do you mean by fear?” The answer would be fear of rejection, fear of man, fear of failure, fear of abandonment, and fear of not being loved.
The pride issue is very dangerous because it makes you appear holy when you are not, and you are stuck with a real problem. This is a fraudulent existence. In other words, you are living a lie. It is a high price because pride produces a fall and much disease. Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18
Do you know how many people get nervous and jerky when I start probing into their personal lives? What are they afraid of? God already knows. God knows everything. He knows you so well that the hairs on your head are numbered. He knows the secret thoughts of your heart. You aren’t hiding anything! Did you forget God sees you? He hears every word I am saying here. He knows my thoughts; He knows your thoughts.
James tells us to confess our faults to one another to be healed. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
It is a scary thing to be transparent these days. I don’t know if I can trust my life with you. Can you trust your life with me? Some of you have, and I thank you for your transparency. Why is it so important to be transparent and confess our sins to God and each other? Proverbs 28:13 gives you a clue. If you cover your sins, you shall not prosper. But if you confess them and forsake them, you shall have mercy. He that covered his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesses and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Proverbs 28:13
What is broken, can be made whole.
What is dirty, can be made clean.
Resentment, can become forgiveness.
What is covered, cannot be healed.
Not all wounds, are visible.
